Unit 4 Loving- Kindness

The Loving Kindness exercise is really a wonderful way to calm the mind and experience a new way of healing and mental clarity. I really found this beneficial; I want to do this exercise once a week I think. I tried to devote my Loving- Kindness to some of the people I work with, it seems that they may have been more receptive than I originally thought. For example: the one woman I work with is rather snarky, mouthy, and she has a very sarcastic and bad attitude. I walked in all open minded and ready to distribute my loving kindness especially upon her. I was shocked when she first saw me, she hesitated and smiled! Then we had a very pleasant and fun loving 8 hour shift together. At the end of the day I was in awe of what the vibes and mental clarity and satisfaction I had bestowed on us and throughout my shift. It was amazingly beneficial. I would completely recommend this to others, the sounds of the waves and the quiet and calm relaxing nature of the woman’s voice really melted me into relaxation and again, I had to fight sleep!
If you think of the concept of a mental workout is exactly what it sounds like. Exercising your mind to bring you clarity and strength within your inner being and having the capacity for health and wellness, and human flourishing. The readings suggest by practicing in mental workouts will lead you to a more positive and better insight into having a healthier mind, body, and spirit, your overall well-being will flourish. Taking care of your inner self is imperative before the outer, becoming fit in your mental health will lead you to many exceptional places in life. Anyone can implement these mental workouts. First step is wanting it, taking the time for you, going to a quiet place if only for a moment and expanding your mind and deep breathing. Second is clearing the clutter is what I call it, take in the negative thoughts and open your heart into turning them into a positive situation, then let them go and be free of them. It can make your psychological health strong, and a more meaningful aspect of your life. By strengthening your mind, you will begin to strengthen the rest of your life. Just remember like with any workout routine results may take time, just don’t give up on your capacity to be amazing

Unit 3

Physical Well Being

I rate myself for physical well-being a 6. I am highly active and a very busy mom, I like to ensure we all get enough fresh air and outside time every day. With that being said, 6 isn’t the best number, there is always ways to be better. Growing and enhancing your physical fitness is always something that can be done for a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. I actually plan on starting a circuit training in the morning, just because I do not like workouts going stale, and more yoga. I make it a vow to add more yoga in my life.

Spiritual Well Being

This is lacking in my life. I rate myself a 3. I have had a very hard time lately, as I stated in a discussion post prior, I feel like my life is in a gray area. Things are tough, just like for everyone. Everyone goes through these times and it is up to me to get into my subconscious and yank on my inner self, to pull myself out of my static funk. Work isn’t going well and school so far this has been my worst term so far and finances are of course trying. Searching for answers within me through relaxation and meditation will help pull me out of this. Spiritual awakening is virtually something that will take me so much further into my wholeness.

Psychological Well Being

My psychological well-being is ranked at a 4. This is mind over matter and getting my mind body connection in tune, which it is not. Stress and overwhelming life factors have put my emotions in a tough place, but it is only I who can get myself out. I am social and pleasant to be around and very friendly so it isn’t any part of the social aspect I lack in. It is the emotional baggage at the end of the day that makes me feel like things are out of hand. The stress I endure, like all busy working moms can get overwhelming, and it affects my inner wellbeing. Meditation is what is needed, I am learning how to do this and so far I have only been able to do it for roughly 5 minutes. That is the beauty of this class and this life; personal growth and flourishing are all up to me. I can do this! I can be better! I will be better

Goals
To optimize life and get these ratings so much higher, I am going to implement more yoga, with relaxation poses at the end of each session, and I also will push my meditation sessions from 5 minutes to 10 and so on and so forth. I would like to find a peaceful place in my heart where my stress cannot reach me and my spirit can soar. I have implemented my activities within my goals section because I know that the activities I have given examples of will help me reach my goals. If these activities don’t seem to work, then I will start over and go back to being physical, as in running harder and weight training which I like but I feel that venturing more in this direction with my new circuit training may better suite my needs as of now.

 Relaxation

That clip was very relaxing, I got to a point where I was almost asleep. My mind wandered and wandered. I know for sure I will have to do this again, when my kids aren’t pestering me and I can actually have peace to listen to his soothing voice more thoroughly. Activities such as this can be beneficial for so many. Taking time to find a quiet place to get out of your own head really may be just the ticket for some. I am my own worst enemy so these are really beneficial. I will listen again and post more about it later. Stay tuned………….
